Connecting with Our Community: Coffee Mornings and Beyond
At Portland School, we are committed to building strong relationships with our parents, carers, and the wider community. As part of this mission, we are thrilled to announce our recent and ongoing series of monthly coffee mornings - a truly innovative initiative that is breaking down barriers and bringing our community together.
Empowering Our Families
Our coffee mornings provide a warm and welcoming space for parents and carers to come together, share their experiences, and find solutions to any challenges they may be facing. Led by our dedicated staff, these events are designed to upskill our community on a range of crucial topics, including welfare, social and emotional support, and trauma-informed practises.
By equipping our families with the knowledge and tools they need to better support their children's development, we are empowering them to be active partners in their child's educational journey. The feedback from our recent coffee morning has been overwhelmingly positive, with attendees expressing gratitude for the opportunity to connect, learn, and find practical solutions.
Building a Supportive Network
But the coffee mornings are just the beginning. In the coming months, we will be expanding our community engagement efforts, offering a series of workshops and events that cater to the diverse needs and interests of our families.
From interactive sessions on mental health and well-being to practical training on navigating the education system, these initiatives will provide our community with the resources and support they need to thrive. By fostering a sense of belonging and collaboration, we are building a strong, supportive network that amplifies the voices and experiences of our parents, carers, and students.
Join Us on Our Journey
At Portland School, we believe that strong community engagement is the foundation for our students' success. We are proud to be on this journey with our families, and we invite you to join us in shaping a brighter future for our SEMH learners.
Whether you are a parent, carer, or member of the local community, we welcome you to attend our upcoming coffee mornings and events. Together, we can empower our young people, break down barriers, and create a truly inclusive and supportive learning environment.
