Behaviour Management Strategies

Individual pupil support Once a referral has been received we will telephone the referring school to discuss the presenting difficulties and then arrange to visit school to carry out an observation. Following the observation a report will be written and shared with the school. A plan of support can then be written and implemented in school by the referring school’s staff. This plan will be reviewed and ‘tweaked’ as appropriate before evaluating the impact at the end of the academic year.

Packages of support

Once a referral has been received we will telephone the referring school to discuss the presenting difficulty and arrange to visit the school to meet with staff and discuss the referral in greater detail. We will then agree the specific support needed and write up a plan. The plan will outline the support we will be giving and may include visits to Portland School and Specialist College for staff to share good practise and to put everything into context. The package of support plan will be reviewed and ‘tweaked’ as necessary before evaluating the impact at the end of the academic year.
